I have been more places with my sister in law Kate than anyone else in my life… ever.  A while back we decided that we were going to go to a new place (a new state, perhaps?) every year… (and I’m pretty sure we have every year since I joined the Cook family).  Last year a friend of mine got married near Durham NC, and after that turned into a 5-day road trip (to visit friends in Asheville, to lay out on the beach of the Atlantic… to unexpectedly get stranded in Jackson TN in a huge thunderstorm) we decided that a yearly road trip was a must.

One route we’re considering this year:

Summary for Plan A:  Approximately 1,200 miles for one short overnight stay in St Louis MO, two nights in Indianapolis IN (including a trip to see one of my photographs in a permanent installation here, which I’ve never actually gotten to see), a day in Cincinatti OH, a night in Louisville KY, a visit to see the wigwam village in Cave City KY, a night in Nashville or Franklin TN, and back to W Memphis AR.

To SEE the wigwam village, not to sleep in it because apparently it’s really gross…

And even though Santa Claus, IN was an original destination it was later removed from Plan A:

I think Plan B includes an exploration of the state of Florida (I have ALWAYS wanted to see a futuro home and most definitely photograph it, apparently there are a few still down there), which would an be equally as awesome road trip to take.  Even though we’re going next month (like, two weeks from now) I don’t think anything is set in stone on where we’re going or what we’re doing… but really, that’s just how we roll.  (I don’t really talk like that, it was a joke).   ROAD TRIP!
