My first big project of 2010

Hello New Year!

One of my goals for 2010 is to finish a throw blanket by means of crochet.   I started crocheting a (huge) red blanket at the end of the summer last year as a side project… and to this day it’s still not finished (In my defense the edges are kinda wanky on the first couple of rows, so it wasn’t 100% a keeper anyway).  Well, sometime during the magical week of Christmas I realized that I had TONS of partial skeins of yarn hanging out and wanted to do something with them… and so began the making of the granny squares:

Ready?  Here we go!

  1. I’ve been working on a double crochet afghan, but the edges are wonky on mine, too. I’m not sure what I wanna do with it.

  2. 1. This is square really is a cute square.

    2. You can finish it. In your own words of encouragement, “just do it!”

    3. I’m in the middle of a couple of ‘sit on the couch while working on it’ projects. Maybe we should sit together sometime.

  3. Sam, we can always have an afghan frogging party. I wish I would have done mine in triple crochet!

Jill D, you know I’m totally up for that.

  4. I spent 2009 knitting and crocheting throws for everyone but me. Today, 1/3/10, I started a knitted throw made with bulky yarn that was hand spun by my friend Alie and dyed by me…. I can’t wait to get it done!!

You will get your throw done too!! I know you can do it!!!!!!!

  5. Mels- I can’t wait to see the finished project! I’ve been really determined so far on the squares! Will post progress on here for sure!
