Crocheting an afghan: Part 2

I am officially done crocheting granny squares for my afghan.  110 total squares of the following colors:

(Ew, not the best picture, but whattaya gonna do).    Sunday night I laid them all out and sorted them into 10 rows of 11 squares, each placed neatly in order to be sewn in their own ziploc baggies.  I was really glad I increased the number of squares from 99 to 110 because I really wanted to use that deep purple alpaca (bottom right) because that was some of the first yarn I had ever bought after learning how to knit, and it was kind of special to me.  I was happy to be able to incorporate it this piece.  Now for part two- sewing everything together.  I have a feeling this is going to be where I start procrastinating.  Whatta ya say, Brandi?  How long do you think this will take to sew up?  I have until the end of 2010 to finish- think I’ll make it?  : )

  1. uck! sewing it up and tucking in the ends is the WORST! it’s like a never-ending punishment. good luck! i know you can do it! as fast as you whipped them out, i’m sure it will take no time for you to get it together!!!

  2. Had a coffee/crafts night tonight and I started sewing together squares and sewing in thread ends… I got 7 attached (103 to go!). I decided I was going to take the sewing together part slow and downgrade it to a secondary project status. I think I’d go nuts with sewing squares as a main project. I got pleeeenty of time.
