Lomographic ACEOs! (and giveaway!)
February 3, 2010
I sort of put my etsy shop on the back burner for a while. With all the craft shows at the end of the year plus the holidays and a million other things I’ve had going on since then, I have barely had time to even think about Etsy, much less keep it updated. Last week while I was ordering prints for a friend of mine, I did two things. (1) I decided I am going to try and print a photograph from EVERY show I go to this year and put them all in a book or something, and (2) I ordered some prints from my Beach holga series from last summer.
I looooove my Holga. My husband bought me my holga as a Christmas gift back in ‘04 or ‘05, and a few years ago I modified it to use 35mm film. I love this camera for so many reasons- for example: it uses FILM, and you must choose your exposures very carefully (you only get about 20 shots) and after you shoot a roll, you have to manually rewind the film in a dark room, then take it to a lab and wait for it to be developed (or develop it yourself!)… then scan it… then have it printed (and in my case, wait even longer for prints to be delivered). All of the work and waiting that goes into producing an actual photograph is beyond rewarding. When I got these little prints the other day, my heart was filled with joy. It’s photography! And it’s just as magical to me now as it was when I was 8 years old.
So I printed some 3′5″ x 2′5″ prints which will also work for my very first ACEOs. (ACEO = Art Cards, Editions and Originals). I listed five different photos tonight in my Etsy shop (http://www.kandi.etsy.com).
: )
In conjunction with listing my first holga prints/first ACEOs, I would like to do a little giveaway! Leave a comment on this post (be sure to include your name and e-mail address) and I will pick one person to receive one of each print… that’s five all together. Giveaway open until Sunday, February 7th at midnight. Winner announced soon after that! : )

How exciting! Long live Holga! I would love to set an MPM one day where everyone shoots a Holga b/w roll (I have 4 cameras, so I can certainly share) and then we all hand process and scan the results all in one day together! Just because I love the process so much. And its so delightful with friends!
Congrats on the pushing forward with Esty!
