Y’all remember my jade plant, Sprinkles… right? I rescued little Sprinks when he was just a little baby plant about 6 years ago. Since I don’t have any children or pets, this plant is the only living thing that depends on my love and care to survive. And it’s a succulent… so… not sure if it needs me very much at all. Point is- I love this plant. It’s my baby. I think it’s the most perfect, beautiful plant… and I like taking pictures of it.
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a leaf had fallen off of ole sprinks. I never paid much attention to it besides noticing it that one time until one day when I was tidying up it’s little terra cotta house… and when I tried to remove the leaf I noticed some resistance. The leaf had sprouted roots! A few more weeks went by and now… NOW…. A BABY JADE PLANT!
If that’s not the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life… then I don’t know what is.

Does that mean we can call you Granny Kandi?
If Sprinkles starts popping them out like Kate Goslin I’ll gladly adopt one! I bet me and succulents would get along.
I love jade plants! Sprinkles looks super healthy! Good job being a plant momma, Kandi. I am one too… I am just as attached to my plants as people are to their pets.
Brandi- you would probably like jade plants. They do not need much attention at all. In fact, I’m convinced they do better when you ignore them. But they are very brittle so you would need keep them far way from puglets. You should get a piece from me or Kandi. They can even live in a cup of water with no dirt for years!
Oh my goodness, Sprinkles is all grown up! I can’t believe she had a baby! That’s so cute.
JM, yes. I love grannies!
BR, as far as I’m concerned, succulents are THE easiest type of plant to care for.
JJ, thanks. I love ‘em. Also, I had no idea they could survive without dirt. I might transplant the baby into another vessel and keep it at home.
JD, I know… soooo cute. Babies!
