Lomographic ACEOs! (and giveaway!)
I sort of put my etsy shop on the back burner for a while. With all the craft shows at the end of the year plus the holidays and a million other things I’ve had going on since then, I have barely had time to even think about Etsy, much less keep it updated. Last week while I was ordering prints for a friend of mine, I did two things. (1) I decided I am going to try and print a photograph from EVERY show I go to this year and put them all in a book or something, and (2) I ordered some prints from my Beach holga series from last summer.
I looooove my Holga. My husband bought me my holga as a Christmas gift back in ‘04 or ‘05, and a few years ago I modified it to use 35mm film. I love this camera for so many reasons- for example: it uses FILM, and you must choose your exposures very carefully (you only get about 20 shots) and after you shoot a roll, you have to manually rewind the film in a dark room, then take it to a lab and wait for it to be developed (or develop it yourself!)… then scan it… then have it printed (and in my case, wait even longer for prints to be delivered). All of the work and waiting that goes into producing an actual photograph is beyond rewarding. When I got these little prints the other day, my heart was filled with joy. It’s photography! And it’s just as magical to me now as it was when I was 8 years old.
So I printed some 3′5″ x 2′5″ prints which will also work for my very first ACEOs. (ACEO = Art Cards, Editions and Originals). I listed five different photos tonight in my Etsy shop (http://www.kandi.etsy.com).
: )
In conjunction with listing my first holga prints/first ACEOs, I would like to do a little giveaway! Leave a comment on this post (be sure to include your name and e-mail address) and I will pick one person to receive one of each print… that’s five all together. Giveaway open until Sunday, February 7th at midnight. Winner announced soon after that! : )

Less art, more craft
One of my button flower canvases was featured in this numeric treasury today (as #3) on Etsy. Cute!
I haven’t even started working on anything yet, but have been invited again this year to be a seller at a crafty open house this November. It’s about a month away, so I hope I will have enough time to make enough things to sell before then. I’m thinking scarves… and baby booties. Not sure- right now I’m still kind of drifting in a post-gonerfest photography editing mode, not really inspired to do much else than that for the time being. Although suddenly I feel the need to break out the screen printing kit.
Still feeling sick, but I managed to make it to work today for the first time since September, which ended up completely exhausting me by the time 4:30 PM rolled around. I came straight home, fell asleep on the couch… slept right through Pardon the Interruption. Ha! Take that ESPN.

Here in my jar I feel safest of all
I love containers! If you can put something into something, I like it. I love little bowls, fancy notebooks, boxes, envelopes and my current favorite container: glass jars. Jars can be recycled in so many great ways. I have a long row of jars in my windowsill filled with different paintbrushes, pens, pencils, buttons, knitting needles, scissors, etc…

Not to mention- they’re pretty darn cute. I guess that’s why once I started drawing them, I couldn’t stop… I only have the first four listed tonight, but there’s a series of ten total pen and watercolor drawings on kandi.etsy.com:
