^ A portion of my actual birth certificate. I like how my dad wrote “May” instead of “5″ but especially “first” instead of “1″ and that really big comma. My dad’s handwriting is very distinct, I’ve been able to recognize it immediately ever since I was a little girl– I bet I can recognize my … Continue reading »

Years and years
As I mentioned in my last (mushy) post, I recently went out of town on a bit of a whim. My sister-in-law and her husband were going on a very short trip to New Orleans and since Baton Rouge- my beloved hometown- is pretty much on the way, they offered me a ride down there … Continue reading »
Four Photographs v.3 (knitting)
Notes //// Knitting is definitely among my favorite hobbies (right up there with crocheting). A friend taught me how to knit in 2005 and I don’t think I’ve ever NOT had at least one knit or crochet project going on since then. If you’ve seen me out in public, you’ve probably seen a huge bag … Continue reading »
Afghan progress report
I’m *officially* 30% done with this red and white striped bobble stitch afghan I started about a month ago (thanks Super Bowl Sunday!). I am really loving how it’s turning out! Woooohoo! I love when that happens.

A week or so ago I held a small beginner knitting class in my home… here are a few snaps I got while my “students” were hard at work:
Single Granny Square Afghan
I just finished my third crocheted afghan this year… it’s a very simple single granny square afghan and it was a Christmas gift for a co-worker (purple & black are two of her favorite colors). We drew names a few weeks ago and I was on a tight deadline with this one (our Christmas party … Continue reading »
Photo Blog: I like making things.
A few photos from the open house last weekend: Thanks to everyone who came out!
Finishing up
As 2010 comes to a close I have been finishing up quite a few projects… art series, knitted hats, crocheted afghans… It feels good to erase some things off the “current projects” list, and not have as much going on. Since December is always nuts, I’m planning on taking it easy and starting with the … Continue reading »
